Eva is our Principal Dentist and owner of Smile Dental Care. Eva is very caring, compassionate and everything she does revolves around her patients.
Eva studied in Leeds and is focused on all-round excellence. With over 30 years dental experience, her spectrum of practice and special interests span a multitude of areas including Orthodontics, Implantology, Cosmetic, preventative and restorative procedures. Eva is particularly interested in orthodontics: she has been at the forefront of progressive orthodontic technology, such as Invisalign clear aligners which transform the patients' smile. Eva was one of the first to bring?Invisalign?to Scotland, and has reached 'Platinum Invisalign' provider level. Eva achieved a Postgraduate Award in Orthodontics in 2017. Her master's degree in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopaedics was awarded in 2018 with Merit. Eva's thesis focused on Sleep Apnoea and Snoring Cessation using mandibular advancement devices.
Eva's broad interests, qualifications and expertise mean that she can fully transform a mouth and a smile from beginning to end and finds solutions to very complicated problems. Eva regularly attends National and International Courses and Conferences, continuously investing in her education so that she can offer up to date and advanced treatments to her patients in line with their needs. With a keen interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Eva has been attending the World Aesthetic Congress since 2005 and can offer the latest techniques and treatments in areas such as Veneers, Smile Reconstruction and Minimally Invasive Techniques. Eva has transformed the appearance and confidence of many patients by treating their 'Gummy Smiles' successfully using Gingival Reshaping Techniques.
Eva understands aesthetics and has also studied Interior Design. In her free time, Eva loves to play tennis and long-distance swimming in the ocean!
Cheryl is our Dental Hygienist / Therapist and joined our Team in 2013.
After her NVQ L3 qualification in Dental Nursing in 2006, Cheryl obtained her Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010.
Cheryl is passionate about her work. She loves to improve patients' dental health and helps them maintain it long-term. She uses different dental aids for patient education. Anxious and wary patients are made to feel at ease within their first appointment with Cheryl, thus building lasting relationships with her patients. This is one of the highlights of working at Smile Dental Care.
Cheryl tries to spend as much time as possible with her family and enjoys keeping fit and healthy.
