What is Gum Reshaping?
Gum reshaping (also known as Gingival Reshaping), or sometimes called recontouring, is a delicate surgical procedure designed to remove excess gum tissue to enhance the aesthetics of your smile.

Gum reshaping and contouring is sometimes necessary as a periodontal therapy to increase the length of a crown, reduce periodontal pockets and treat periodontal disease.
The Procedure
This procedure can even out an uneven gum line, sculpture the shape of your gum and lengthen your teeth for an aesthetically pleasing result and a beautiful smile.
In the expert hands of the surgeon and continuous good oral hygiene your gum line will remain stable and the gums will not grow back. You will be given full verbal and written instructions.

You can expect some tenderness and mild discomfort afterwards which usually resolves in the first three days.
